Old World menace…

Puncture Vine (tribulus terrestris) is aptly named. I was struck, not by the weapon-like nuts that form after flowering. I was struck by the pretty yellow flowers at my feet. It was obviously a weed; but not one I routinely observe, so it was a treat for my eyes. CLICK on the image above for more information. Copyright 2019 Pamela Breitberg
This clump of Puncture Vine, acted as ground cover for a dry patch of bare ground next to a parking lot. Beware, the nuts of this pretty flower with delicate leaves can puncture bicycle tires and bare tropical toes. Copyright 2019 Pamela Breitberg
