Windy wavy walk…

This summer has had an unusually dangerous stretch of record high water levels on Chicago’s Lake Michigan shores. Excessive rains the past few months along with the Chicago winds have caused the disapearance of walking areas, hiding of shoreline rocks and other shallow water warnings for boaters. This section along Lincoln Park’s water’s edge has multiple layers of walking/biking concrete; a barrier for flooding while providing a bit of entertainment for one’s daily exercise. Such waves seem more typical of an ocean shoreline instead of the usual calmness of a lakeside. This views shows the creative and effective pathways along Lake Michigan’s Chicago’s shores that act as a floodwall. At this moment most of it shows itself. Copyright 2019 Pamela Breitberg
