My aim with this acrylic painting was to include dimensionality between the background and the dense layers of Lilac flowers. As my usual inspiration, a photograph of mine loosely guided my composition and lighting, especially in the background areas. I also attempted a more “painterly” method, adding some paint depth in the Lilac blossoms (not easy to show in this two dimensional photograph). Thank you so much! In a way I feel it’s a combination of a pent up want to be creative along with gentle guidance from a teacher as well as TIME since being being retired. All leads to fun with new challenges!
