Very clean…

South Florida, in particular the Everglades, is home to the Black Vulture. During a Billie Swamp Safari yesterday inside the Seminole Reservation, I observed and learned about them and other wildlife. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
The setting is the incredible, awesome, Seminole Reservation in the Everglades. The tree in the background hosts a family of Black Vultures. They mate for life and live and hunt together as a large family. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
What captured my attention was the fact that Black Vultures take multiple, as many as SIX, baths each day! To dry themselves after each bath they spread their expansive wings and sun themselves. And we thought many people had cleanliness phobias. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
Some of these Black Vultures are actually drying their wings, they are not in the process of landing. They landed on the treetop a little while ago. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
