I almost walked right past this little, one inch, thing on the beach thinking it was a broken piece of a Portuguese Man of War. My curious nature prevailed however and I paused long enough to realize it was distinctively unique from anytihng I’d seen before. This tiny little disc with blue tenacles is called a Blue Button. It is a distant cousin of the Man of War and like them it is considered an animal and feeds on small marine animals, Zooids, catching them with their poisonous tenacles.
