Much more than aligators… Pamela Breitberg 4 years ago A Snowy Egret catches breakfast in a stretch of the Florida Everglades along I75, aka Aligator Alley. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg Those white things in the grasses are not flowers, they’re Ibis and Egrets! The Everglades is a rich habitat worth preserving for more reasons than spotting beautiful birds Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg When stopping at a recreation area (boat access for the Everglades as well as fishing possibilities) spend some time in quiet observation. You might spot a Green Heron who very easily camoflages in the sun/shade areas. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg Yes, Alligator Alley is appropriately named. That bump in the canal is just that. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg There is a wisely designed tall fence along Aligator Alley protecting us from wildlife as well as protecting wildlife from the danger of crossing a highway. A canal is between this fence and the Everglades wetlands. We watched these two for a while and the Alligator was either not hungry or considered the Duck too small a snack.
