Sweetness in the name….

I have seen this shrub many times each summer but never stopped to capture the beauty of the clusters of small pink flowers. Japanese Meadowsweet (Spiraea japonica) has become a naturalized shrub in North America and a favorite for hedges and gardens. Read about this water loving species here. There are quite a few Spiraea varieties chosen for borders in gardens; but this Japanese Meadowsweet faithfully produces pink blooms throughout the summer, so it is a favorite of mine. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
