Namesake bonnets…

I have posted numerous images, photos and paintings featuring the Bonnet House in Ft. Lauderdale. Today I share images of it’s namesake, the Bonnet Lily (Nuphar advena), aka Spadderdock or Cow Lily. These lilies quietly reside in the pond on the east side of the Bonnet House residence. The flowers in bloom resemble small yellow “bonnets” adding an artistic touch to this historic artisan home of Frederic Clay Bartlett.
