Unexpected…

The perennial Aster blooms in the Autumn. These Asters were spotted blooming this spring in a Chicago planter. Totally unexpected find. The portrait pose was natural; all I need to do was move to capture their arrangement. Nature’s compositions are always my favorite. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Pretty Petunia…

This is a common plant for window boxes and planters at outdoor dining venues in Chicago. Always beloved Petunia; sometimes over-planted but always selected to brighten the scene.

Planted here, contrasting with red Begonias this Petunia’s trumpet shape is captivates many an insect. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

The more traditional view of Petunias show their colors that seem to radiate from their inner core.. A common, traditional favorite. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Seasonal traveler…

Green Heron

Careful observation at Lincoln Park’s North Pond can reveal unique birds. This Green Heron (Butorides virenscens) probably wintered in the southern States or Central America. In the South they frequent coastal areas or Mangrove swamps. In the Midwest they are content to residency by ponds and wetlands. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

24 hour beauty…

Equisite Day Lily (Hermocallis) in bloom outside a Chicago condominium. What stopped me in my walk was the proliferation of blooms. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Daylilies come in numerous colors and shades. Years ago I added some prized Daylilies to my garden only to have them devoured by local Deer. They like their taste better than their beauty. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Happy 4th of July…

Ah, the all American, Eurasian immigrant, beloved by children and many adults. The White Clover (Trifolium repens) is considered an agressive weed by landscapers and homeowners. Children love to make clover chains necklaces as a summer pasttime. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

One MUST lie down in the grass to relish the sweet beauty of the White Clover. I love this Americanized immigrant! Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Look closely…

One needs to stop and look close to see the tiny blooms on this row of hedges rimming an apartment building’s property. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

The buds caught my attention a few weeks ago. I wasn’t sure if they’d amount to flowers of any signifigance. Cute little flowers that will last only a few weeks each year, like most perennials. Then just a memory. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Contrasts at that fountain…

I wasn’t looking for “contrasts” when enjoying the sights and cool breeze at Buckingham Fountain, Chicago. But couldn’t resist these two images. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Look behind the large bike and you’ll see the other young lady has a small scooter. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Time to cool off…

The awesomely large, regal, magnificent Buckingham Fountain in Chicago, is most enjoyed on these super hot summer days. One learns quickly where to stand to catch the cool sprays. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg.

Can you feel the cool invigorating sprays? Nighttime is the most incredible show of ever changing colors and spray heights. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

A must-do destination, Buckingham Fountain. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Even the Quinciera party chose a few moments at Buckinham Fountain to cool off during great photo ops. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg.

Comfort in tradition…

This Hydrangae bloom, seemingly escaping it’s fenced confines caught my attention each time I’d walk past. Couldn’t resist creating a couple images. Hydrangae are traditional garden perennials in the Midwest. In this ever changing time it’s always comforting to see it’s pervasive presence. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Beginning to bloom; so I’ll be able to enjoy it at least 3 weeks. Usually the drying blooms are equally enjoyable. This small Bee seems happy too; but that’s totally my assumption. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg.

Unreal reality…

This is a real, unmanipulated image of buildings in downtown Chicago. Sometimes reality can be very confusing and misrepresent itself. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg

Focusing further back provides more information making the photograph less confusing than the prior image. I wonder what architectural design would look like if designed to look undistorted in neighboring reflections. Copyright 2018 Pamela Breitberg.
