Looking down from our balcony we noticed that gulls, in group, were actively engaged in the hunt for something for lunch. Never seen such a crowd of gulls so actively fishing before. Copyright 2019 Pamela BreitbergThe polkadotted tail feathers designate that these are Herring Gulls. A female Herring Gull, with it’s greyed/browned feathers speaks out loudly in the bottom of this image. We have previously seen them at rest in small groups along the Shore. But this was the first time seeing them fishing as a collective. The clump to the left of the female, seemed to be a washed up Puffer Fish, but none of the gulls seemed interested. Copyright Pamela BreitbergSome kind of tasty lunch is evidently nearby for the gulls. They may be flocking as a group, but they do not share their catch. Copyright 2019 Pamela BreitbergHerring Gulls have the distinctive polkadotted tail while the Laughing Gulls have dark heads. Here, the Herring Gull dominate the beach with a sprinkling of Laughing Gulls; all communing together on the shore. Copyright 2019 Pamela Breitberg
