A closer look at natural design… Pamela Breitberg 3 years ago Surrounding a small Community Garden in Lincoln Park, Chicago are plantings of Dahlias. This one is being enjoyed by a six legged neighbor. Copyright 2021 Dahlias remind me of onions; they have many layers. But Dahlias have many layers of beauty and fascination. My macro lens shows such complicated design. Copyright 2021 Pamela Breitberg As a Dahlia bloom matures it seems to create a crown on it’s innermost part. Actually it’s the beginning of seed formation. Most Dahlias are propogated via their tubers because seed growth takes several seasons to produce mature flowering plants.
