Violet hues…

Soft, subtle shades of violet grace this garden’s raised flower bed. Egyptian Starcluster (Pentas lanceolata) is the main focal point with its pastel violet, star shaped flowers. It is often found in “butterfly gardens” as an accent plant to the more majestic Milkweed plant. Persian Shield (Strobilanthes dyerianus), aptly surrounds and seems to protect the delicate flowers. The deep purple striations in the leaves compliment the blooms, while allowing the focus to remain on the flowers. Copyright 2022 Pamela Breitberg
