Ah, I thought my first piece in a few months should recall my years living near a Forest Preserve. This 11″x14″ acrylic is from such a photograph along a bike trail that I frequently traveled for thirty years. The light and shadows guided my composition. The single yellow shrub naturally drew attention as the main subject in the scene. Including the light and shadow on the pier deck I thought made for a fun composition choice. The colors of the pier didn’t compete with the Tern, so the busy scene seemed to allow the Tern to be the main subject. 8″x10″ acrylic.
