As so much of this county is in deep freeze and record-breaking snows, I thought I’d share some subtropical warmth this morning. South Florida is only 57 degrees this morning. But we will warm to the 70s again this afternoon. Here, at the Bonnet House, their Orchid greenshouse can warm the heart. The Bartlett’s used local materials when building the Bonnet House; so the ever present, local corals were part of the concrete mix. Yet they live easily on trees, only needing the air and water and sun to thrive. In subtropical environs a gardener only needs to enjoy their beauty. One friend said the only danger to her Orchids on her patio were Iguana that sometimes knock them off their residing tree when passing them. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
