The Inlet Beach at Hillsboro Lighthouse was created to secure the inlet water depths connecting the Atlantic Ocean with the Intracoastal. This stretch of sand and shallow waters is enjoyed by Tern and Gulls. As I walked the beach, they would move a few feet only to avoid my steps; willing to share the beach. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergLike most things along the ocean’s edges, preservation of man-made things is continual. That includes keeping the Inlet deep and wide enough for passage. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergI tried to not disturb the Terns and Gulls as I walked to the boulders at the entrance to the Inlet. But they would quickly rearrange themselves, settling a little farther from my footsteps. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergTerns are a favorite sea bird of mine. I love the almost comical way they all face the same direction when at rest. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergThe sands show the patterns left by the ebbing and flowing tides. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergMultiple footbprints add to the sand patterns. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergThe view of the Ocean is different here with the shallows and boulders; it is quite a contrast from the flat, sand-only beaches of Ft. Lauderdale.
