While in the Nashville area, there was a beautiful patch of Lenten Roses (Helleborus orientalis) in full bloom. Flowering during Lent, this Eurasian plant is appropriately named. It grows low to the ground as is common for many spring blooms. And the flowers are a pale yellow/green so could be dismissed as part of the plants’ leaves. Flowers hang downward, seeming quite humble. This Lenten Rose has a bud, yet to open. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergSubtle beauty. Worth a look.
