Impatiens always seems like an unfair name for this seemingly quiet, patient, annual common in so many gardens. The naming comes from the seeds’ tendency to disperse violently when pods are ready. Hot pink Impatiens do demand their own attention. The blooms often show signs of wear from rain and wind; but these two are still pristine. Read the definition here. This annual offers shape and texture variety in an annual garden. Which do you prefer for your garden? Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
