After the purple flower balls of Milkweed bloom, their seedpods form. These native prairie plants are the food for Monarch larvae. In autumn, the Monarchs have migrated south while the Milkweed to transition. Egg-shaped, large pods develop. A Milkweed Beetle, here, feeds on the pod.
