Roses come in a variety of colors besides traditional red. These white beauties are Rosa rugosa, aka Japanese Rose. The brilliant white stood out among the greens in the garden. Copyright 2025 Pamela BreitbergMusk Roses (Rosa moschata) were nearby in this garden. Multiple layers of petals in these Roses remind me of the short blooming Peonies (a favorite of mine). Not to be ommited when showing white flowers, the Frost Aster (Symphyotrichum pilosum). This perrenial native has many other common names: Hairy White Oldfield Aster, Heath Aster, Hairy Aster, Steelweed. Ah, the joys of thinking you discovered a new species and assigning your own naming to the plant. This image shows many buds of future Frost Aster. The image seems to show bits of frost in the background which are actually buds. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
