Looking out of the windows at Northwestern Medical Center provides this view to Lake Michigan. For years I believed this statuesque structure to be a part of Northwestern University. I was mostly wrong; only a few medical spaces are located in its space. Turns out this 1923-1927 building was built to be home of the American Furniture Mart. Read about the original use of this beauty here. It’s original address was 666 Lake Shore Drive but was changed in the 80s to 680 Lake Shore Drive!! The new address makes living in this converted-to-condominiums and retail property more appealing. It is accompanied by a new name: Lake Shore Place.
