I first noticed the array of fallen flowers on the lawn underneath this huge Northern Catalpa (Catalpa speciosa) tree in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. This “tough and adaptable” (see https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plantinfo/tree_alternatives/northern_catalpa ) tree can grow up to 70 feet tall.
