Blue Ridge bliss…

This morning’s delimma is whether the lush blooms adding color to this scene are Rhododendron or Azalea. Both beautiful and as I just learned, there’s a reason for this confusion. Azeleas are part of the Rhododendron family. I believe this cluster to be Rhododenron because of the large overal plant size. And saying this I guess I can’t be wrong. Information is here. This view of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside of Ashville, North Carolina is from the top of Mt. Pisgah, elevation 5,721′. This small 8″x10″ acrylic painting was created with love for this blissful place. Somehow though it seems too small a tribute to such a vast space. I sense a need to create at least one more piece on a larger scale. Copyright 2023 Pamela Breitberg
