Seeing changes is history…

Change is natural. Change happens all the time. The Great Smoky Mountains’ Blue Ridge Parkway construction remnants  reveal evidence of at least six billion years of change. Much of the Smoky Mountains is metamorphic rock, consisting of quartzite and shale. Some are the igneous rock, granite. This mountain range is the result of the movement of tectonic plates before and after Pangea (when the continents were one). These mountains missed being molded by the ice age. They changed primarily in recent time from weather events. The power of nature, as many have witnessed recently in this area can be sudden or extremely slow.
