First of the evening…

Ah, a plant that welcomes the evening, opening it yellow flowers wide in the late of each day. The Evening Primrose is native, yet considered a weed by some. It is found in every continent except Antarctica.  This Evening  Primrose was on Mt. Pisgah in the Great Smoky Mountains. It often finds its home in previously disturbed soils, bringing a spot of evening sunshine with its flowering. Like many plants it has many other common names, I suppose named by whomever believed they saw it first or the variety of uses for this beauty.. Evening Star, Sundrop, King’s Cure-all and Fever Plant. Read about its uses here. Copyright 2024 Pamela Breitberg
