These two 4″x6″ watercolors were inspired from memories. Usually, my pieces are based on my photographs. I had no idea what the final scenes would look like until they were done. The birds were added at the end to make it appear less empty. Watercolor seems to encourage randomness in a painting; the colors have their own idea of what to do, what to become. When using my imagination, choosing a composition for a painting is easy; I’m not distracted by a “real” scene in front of me.
