Today small snow flakes floated lazily through the crisp morning air. My attitude has always been, “if it’s cold then there should be snow”! So I had a smile on my face, though I knew that it was snow that would not be visible on the ground. It was just a tease of the coming winter weathers.
White fuzzy seed heads of the Goldenrod plant glisten in the setting sun in this late fall image prefacing the arrival of snow that will blanket the prairie in the coming months. They stand among Big Bluestem grass and other species common to a native midwest prairie.
