I expected to see inviting eateries, touristy stores, artisan shops and lot of people in downtown Ashville, North Carolina. When I arrived there was a constant drumming noise about a block away. Turns out that Friday nights is known as a time for community gathering with drums and your dancing feet. What fun! It warmed my heart to see such fun by a collection of mostly strangers. At that time the Covid numbers were low; so I felt “ok” as a vaccinated person to walk through mask free. Sadly today I’d still go but certainly donning my mask. Be safe and wise everyone.
