Inspired from my many photographs of the White Tail Deer in Cook County’s Forest Preserve. This scene was on a restored prairie land in the Preserve. I spent much time on my bike and “hunting” (with my camera) trips in those spaces. I knew exactly where I’d find Does and Bucks. Since moving to the big city of Chicago this is one acitivity I genuinely miss. I treasure the memories of seeing them roam freely and apparently happily through the prairie. Wishing Illinois was still truly a prairie state that it’s nickname implies. Happy Indigenous Persons’ Day including the wildlife that also occupied these lands. Acrylic on 11×14.
