Somebody was thirsty…

Naming of native prarie plants continue to interest me. Meet the Bottle Gentian (Gentiana andrewsii) whose flowers are suppose to rememble closed bottles. That seems a stretch to me; but it’s a low growing prairie beauty that’s not to be missed when roaming through the Lurie Garden’s restored prairielands. Copyright 2022 Pamela Breitberg
