Childhood tastes…

I have no idea who taught me this practice originally, but as a young child we would look for Purple Clover (Trifolium pratense), aka Red Clover and pull off individual flower petals and suck their sweet, honey like, juice. Obviously, there was only a minute amount of sweetness, yet it was sweet enough to entice us to taste more petals.
