The feathers are ruffled from the ocean winds as this Brown Pelican looks over the Atlantic Ocean at the newly revitalized Pompano Beach Pier. These birds fascinate me. Pelicans are graceful flyers but always the clutziest landers upon land or water. I have yet, wisely, been too timid to reach out and pet them. But I am tempted!
