Sorrow-less…

Beginning as orange blossoms, the Ashoka Tree (Saraca asoca) flowers mature to red shades. This particular tree is sparser than most Ashoka Trees, yet it still caught my attention and made me smile. Ashoka translates to “sorrowless” in India, lending itself to be treasured and subject to many myths. The leaves are evergreen while the flowers happen only for a couple months each year.  Read about it here. Copyright 2024 Pamela Breitberg
