Gotta love naturalists who give names to plants. Here is a Red Hot Cat Tail (Acalypha hispida) shrub. Also known as the Chenille Plant, because of its long fuzzy flower, it is an Asian native that has naturalized in the U.S. As a long-time cat owner, I can attest that one of our cats would risk his tail by waving it too close to a burning candle.
