Wide open yet dense…

Blue skies compliment the blue brackish waters of the Florida Everglades. Time away from the big city life in such wide open spaces bring me a sense of awe for nature and all that it offers. It renews my soul. Copyright 2024 Pamela Breitberg
I saw only a small patch of the vast southern Florida Everglades, but just looking at my images renews my sense of appreciation for the preservation of the Everglades. The Everglades, like most of the world, is being effected by global warming. Connecting to the ocean’s salt waters, more and more of it is changing from fresh water to brackish as ocean levels rise from glacier melting.  In turn, this affects the types of wildlife able to flourish there. Here, some Bonnet Lily’s grace the surface; see the small yellow bloom on the lower right. Copyright 2024 Pamela Breitberg
Waterways through the Everglades give the feeling of vast emptiness. Don’t be fooled. There is dense wildlife populations within the green spaces of the Everglades. HAPPY EARTH DAY! Copyright 2024 Pamela Breitberg
