Edible but not tasty…

Amongst the Seagrasses, along the South Florida shores is Gullfeed (Scaevola plumieri). The common name is confusing because Gulls primarily feed on fish and marine invertebrates. They do, however, tend to eat the fruit of Gullfeed. The leaves are edible but not at all tasty.  This one plant was found inside a cluster of Seagrasses near the shore. Overnight rains left drops on the dune plants. Copyright 2024 Pamela Breitberg
