Cold blooded dangers…

Tis the season of falling Green Iguanas in South Florida. This young Green Iguana is partway up a Palm Tree. Like all reptiles, Green Iguanos are cold blooded, meaning that their internal body temperature emulates the outside temperature. These herbivores often climb Palm trees to dine. When the temperatures reach below 50 degrees they become immobile and often fall from these trees.  This has happened the past week in southern Florida.Read about falling Iguanas here.
