Beginnings…

Japanese Rose (Kerria japonica) is actually a shrub plant. Here, it appears as a ground cover, so I’m assuming it’s a new, young, plant. The bright flowers were profusely blooming. It is also known as Miracle Marigold Bush in New England, though it is not a Marigold. I like it’s nickname of Butterbur, aka, “Mountain Breeze“. The flowers appear only in the springtime, so I felt fortunate to walk past it while in full bloom. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg

When is a Rose not a Rose?

The flower must be laughing

At man’s naming choices.
