Today I begin to share some images from my time documenting a prairie restoration project at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. This was years ago; but the images are still relevant, and the need to preserve Illinois prairies is also still relevant. I spent two years documenting their restoration work. Here is an early blooming plant: Shooting Star (Dodecatheon meadia). Blooming before the prairie grasses cover the scene, these delicate flowers do seem to shine.
