Prairie sproutings…

Today I begin to share some images from my time documenting a prairie restoration project at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. This was years ago; but the images are still relevant, and the need to preserve Illinois prairies is also still relevant. I spent two years documenting their restoration work. Here is an early blooming plant: Shooting Star (Dodecatheon meadia). Blooming before the prairie grasses cover the scene, these delicate flowers do seem to shine.

Sometimes natives shine

Shooting Stars rise up each spring

Home is the prairie
