Found the lost slipper…

In truth, it was my daughter who spotted this rare White Lady‘s-slipper  Orchid (Cypripedium candidum) on the Chicago Botanic Garden’s restored Priairie. I was changing film (yes, it was pre-digital times for me).  This is the smallest, native Orchid in the U.S. and near extinction. At only six inches tall it easily goes unseen unless in bloom; then it’s still difficult to find. Read more here. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
