Prairie yellow…

Looking back through my prairie photographs done at the Chicago Botanic Garden’s restoration project, this one kept calling for me to paint a version in large scale. Large for me is 16″x20″, in acrylic. This Tall Coreopsis (Coreopsis tripteris)  was painted on aluminum, and it was not a favorite. I had trouble, even with priming with the paint sticking! But my goal of muted colors, except for the bright yellow flowers, did work well I think. Would love to here your thoughts. Copyright 2025 Pamela Breitberg
