Bird or snake…

The long extended neck of the Anhinga is often mistaken for a snake when the bird is in the subtropical waters hunting. The bulk of the body stays underwater with only the head and neck above water; hence looking like a snake on the water’s surface. Copyright 2026 Pamela Breitberg
