For this 11″x14″ acrylic I detoured from my habit of using my own photographs for inspirations. A friend let me browse through her file cabinet full of magazine and photoss. I chose this image I believe from an old calendar. I love Aspen trees. I exagerated the play between sunlight and shadows on the field. And I kept the details of old reamins of a farm machine to a minimum. It was painting for pure FUN after concentrating so seriously on my grandson’s portrait: a self-imposed challenge. Nice contrasts of light and shade and the red on the wheels just gives it an extra zing against the greens.
Thank you! I agree, the red complimentary color helped finish it. I left out alot of details to offer suggestions instead.
