Stimulating memories…

I spent some time in Colorado each summer; and one summer I worked the entire summer there. Whenever I see this Illinois native cousin, Wild Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) it brings back memories of Colorado’s state flower Colorado Columbine (Aquilegia caerulea). Colorado is where I first learned and observed this unique flower. Colorado’s is a bright blue while ours is Yellow and Red. Copyright 2026 Pamela Breitberg
Wild Columbine seem to blend in easily to the landscape. However insects and birds are fully aware of its sweet nectar. These surround the Caldwell Lily Pond. Copyright 2026 Pamela Breitberg
Wild Columbine “volunteered” in my perennial garden years ago since we lived alongside part of the Cook County Forest Preserve. These along the Caldwell Lily Pond path are quite content. Copyright 2026 Pamela Breitberg

Stirring the senses,

Precious memories spring forth.

Loved gift from nature.
