Lookin’ hot…

My eye was first attracted to this garden design inside Lincoln Park Zoo. The deep green-purplish leaves in the background nicely complimented the pale pink Coneflower blooms. In this summer’s extreme heat in Chicago I couldn’t help but think the flowers looked like they were wilting in the heat. I know that towards the end of their bloom the petals droop while the Coneheads becomes more and more prominent. Copyright 2026 Pamela Breitberg
