Panicled Aster, native to Illinois found in the wonderful North Park Village Nature Center in Chicago. Asters always make me appreciate each warm day because they signal the end of the growing season. They are the last bloom to open before cooler weather puts to rest nature’s paintbrush.  The purple is a striking companion of the abundant goldenrod whose bloom is bolder but beginning to fade.Panicled Aster  copyright 2011 Pamela Breitberg
