Salty pork…

Another morning of learning for me on Sanibel Beach last month happened when I came across a couple of these flesh colored blobs. Meet the Sea Pork or Sea Squirt (tunicate). It is indeed a live shallow-water creature of the sea, providing new mental images of “salt pork”. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
Low tide reveals sea creatures not easily seen by beach goers. Sea Squirt is an apt name as well as Sea Pork; because they have two valves, one to suck in sea water and the other to expel. Sea Pork details available here. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
