Busting out in dance…

Slowly opening, readying to burst and send forth dozens of feathery seeds, the Milkweed pod currently is occupied by Milkweed Beetles. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg (photo 2007).
Autumn at the wetlands of Volo Bog includes the wind driven show of thousands of Milkweed seeds floating through the air. This pod awaits a burst of wind in order to disperse it’s contents. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg (photo 2007)
Some Milkweed seeds are temporarily caught on grasses or stems. I can’t help but remember the scene from Disney’s Nutcracker Suite section of Fantasia whenever I see them dance through the air like tiny ballerinas. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg (photo 2007)
