Midwest wetlands…

Looking through images taken prior to this blog site I came across images from Volo Bog, north of Chicago. These images, taken in 2007, remind me of the Florida Everglades. Both areas are very wet lands, yet with very different inhabitants of plants and animals. Both are stunning with multitudes of stories and tales. Tamarack are a common tree at Volo Bog contrasting to the subtropical Cypress. Both species are coniferous trees that seasonally shed their leaves. Click here to read about their differences and similarities. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
