The prairie pathway around the pond includes a view of the Grant statue. This statue was meant to be installed in Chicago’s Grant Park but someone erroneously installed it in it’s northern neighbor, Lincoln Park. It was too large to economically and safely relocate to its intended home. Autumn is a time that the yellows of the prairie shine at the South Pond. Copyright 2020 Pamela Breitberg
