Small treasures…

I wasn’t sure if this pretty little blooming plant was a weed or purposely part of the flora in Chicago’s Lincoln Park this summer. Though it grows fairly lanky in late summer giving the appearance of a weed (when I noticed it) it turns out Biennial Gaura (Gaura biennis) is an Illinois native. I will keep my eyes out for this tiny beauty during my future summer walks through Lincoln Park when looking for small blessings to brighten my day.   Learn more here.
